Be Good to Yourself

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, self care is defined as “the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.”

What about your own emotional health? It may come natural to do for others, while doing things for ourselves sometimes makes us feel selfish. But, it is not a selfish act, rather a necessary thing to do. You must restore yourself in order to be there for others. Don’t put off time with yourself! It is time to let go and breathe--cultivate the relationship with yourself.

Are you among the exhausted, tired and overstressed? You are not alone! Think about how everyone has been disrupted and their daily routines have changed.

What does a “me” day look like? Set time aside for your mind, body and spirit! Below, you will see a few suggestions for ways to take time for yourself.  I encourage you to give this some thought, add to the list and start your own self-care journey!
