Breastfeeding, Childbirth and Safe Sleep Classes

 

At CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, we are pleased to offer classes for expectant mothers, coaches (spouse, partner, family member or friend) and siblings. Our classes cover childbirth, newborn care including breastfeeding and safe sleep and what to expect when you go home. Childbirth education can bring peace of mind and decrease anxiety about the upcoming birth of your baby.

 

We offer the following childbirth classes:

  • Express Class: New moms (coach highly encouraged to come) 
  • Refresher Class: Prepare for a new family member (coach highly encouraged to come) 
  • Sibling Class: Prepare siblings for a new baby

 

Breastfeeding classes include:

  • Understanding the importance of breastfeeding
  • Proper latching techniques
  • Breast pumps
  • Community resources

Safe Sleep classes will provide information on:

  • How to practice safe sleep
  • Sudden Infant Death or SIDS
  • ABCs of Safe Sleep
  • Hospital Policy

Breastfeeding and safe sleep classes will be held on the same day. The classes will be quarterly unless otherwise noted.  If you have any questions regarding this class, please reach out to Kaci Mills BSN RN CPN, Lactation Educator at (501) 622-4559.

 

The first breastfeeding class will be held on December 2, 2024 from 4:00- 5:00 p.m. at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs in the Dublin Room. Directly following the breastfeeding class, the safe sleep class will be held from 5:15- 6:00 p.m. in the same location.
