Maternal Child Giving Babies a Healthier Start
We know that babies who are born after 39 weeks of pregnancy have a better chance of being healthy. That's why the Infirmary's Maternal Child unit was recognized by the March of Dimes for reducing the number of elective inductions and cesarean deliveries performed before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy.
The March of Dimes along with the Arkansas Hospital Association presented the Infirmary with a banner to be displayed in the hospital’s Maternal Child unit.
The Infirmary’s Maternal Child unit offers spacious, home-like birthing suites that are equipped for comfort during labor, delivery and recovery. This model of care has a number of benefits for both mother and child. The hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is located nearby on the same floor.
