The HeartSmart screening program at CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute is a comprehensive heart health screening designed to help you understand your heart health and detect potential risks early.

Screenings take place on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month by appointment only at our clinic on Kanis.

The cost is $75 per person.

The screening includes:

• Lipid panel and hemoglobin A1C (to assess cholesterol and blood sugar levels)

• Blood pressure evaluation

• Body mass index (BMI) assessment

• Heart attack risk assessment (ASCVD)

• Electrocardiography (EKG/ECG) (to check heart rhythm)

• ABI peripheral artery disease assessment (to evaluate circulation issues)

• Cardiac calcium scoring CT Scan (to measure plaque buildup in the arteries)

You may benefit from a heart screening if you are:

• A man aged 45 or older

• A woman aged 55 or older

• Someone with a family history of heart disease

• Living with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or obesity

• A current or former smoker

• Leading a sedentary lifestyle

• Following an unhealthy diet high in saturated fats, cholesterol, and sodium

• Overweight or obese
