MORRILTON, Ark. (Nov. 16, 2017) – CHI St. Vincent Morrilton has launched a partnership with Senior Life Solutions to better meet the unique needs of older adults over 65 who are struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety often related to aging. 

CHI St. Vincent Morrilton's Senior Life Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program. Older adults may benefit from the Senior Life Solutions program if they are experiencing conditions that are common indicators of anxiety and depression in senior adults, including:

• Recently experienced a traumatic event

• Lost a spouse or close family member

• Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities

• Changes in appetite

• Difficulty sleeping

• Loss of energy

• Feelings of sadness or grief lasting more than two weeks

• Feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness

After being assessed to determine whether they are suitable for the program, participants in the program at CHI St. Vincent Morrilton will meet three times per week in a supportive, encouraging group setting. 

The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed social workers, a registered nurse, and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well-being of the seniors in the Morrilton community.

“There are so many things to enjoy about our senior years, such as more time with family and for recreation and travel, but growing older can also be stressful,” said Leslie “Bubba” Arnold, president of CHI St. Vincent Morrilton. “This innovative and unique program can help older adults better handle difficult life conditions such as the loss of loved ones and stresses of age-related health concerns.”

Anyone can refer individuals to the program including family members, physicians, or other health professionals.
