Applying to Our Program

 

To apply to one of our residency training programs, please use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS®), a program of the Association of American Medical Colleges. It may be used by U.S. medical school graduates, international medical school graduates, and fellowship applicants.

Completed applications should be received by our program no later than October 1.


A complete application includes:

  • Medical degree graduation certificate (prior to start of residency program)
  • Proof of a valid ECFMG certificate (where applicable)
  • Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Dean’s letter (or equivalent)
  • Official medical school transcripts
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae

Eligibility requirements:

Each residency program sets its own interview time frame and schedule, but interviews - which are mandatory in order to be considered for a position - generally take place between October – February prior to the start date. (So applicants for the 2022-2023 academic year would interview in generally between fall 2021 and early winter 2022. 

Other specifications:

Candidates must start the residency program within 5 years after completion of their medical degree.
Candidates must meet all eligibility and selection criteria of resident guidelines established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
We consider international medical graduates who meet the other eligibility criteria (just as we consider other candidates).

Matching Process:

All residency positions are filled through the National Residency Matching Program.  Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted electronically through Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).

Our Criteria:

  • Graduate of an accredited LCME medical school or AOA osteopathic medical school* (prior to start of residency)
  • Apply within five years of graduation from medical school
  • USMLE Step 1 CK, Step 2 CK, and Step 2 CS or COMLEX Level 1, 2, and Performance Evaluation (first attempts only)
  • International medical school graduates must have a valid ECFMG certificate
  • Accepting positions for PGY-1

Applications and supporting documents must be submitted via ERAS by October 1.  The program director will consider all ERAS application that include:

  1. Completed ERAS application
  2. Personal Statement
  3. Current CV
  4. Official medical school transcript
  5. Dean’s or MSPE Letter
  6. USMLE &/or COMLEX Transcript
  7. Letters of recommendation from three clinical faculty
  8. USMLE/LCME Transcript
